March 2018 New Music

This is going to be quick and dirty, folks. I’m changing jobs and haven’t had a lot of time to get you some new content. Things should settle down over the next few weeks. I’m attending Northern Invasion in a couple of weeks and hope to do a write up after. 2018 is absolutely exploding right now with new music. I had to push some end of March releases to the April post. Look for that soon, hopefully more timely than this post!

Happy listening!

Red City Radio –SkyTigers (Mar 9, 2018)

It’s only a 5 song EP and I don’t know what rock god we have to pray to for a full length follow up to their 2015 self titled masterpiece but I’ll take this for now. I’m a huge fan of the band and looking forward to seeing them next month in Minneapolis. Despite the short length, this snack of an album delivers. Big vocals, intertwined guitars, surprising change ups, Red City Radio is one of the best hard rock bands out there today. Give them a slot opening for Black Stone Cherry or The Glorious Sons and watch these guys reach the stratosphere. Get SkyTigers now and pick up their back catalog while you’re at it.

Drones – Exiled

UK punk band Drones has their first album with new lead singer Lois McDougall. Exiled is a concept album about the refugee crisis. Fittingly for the subject matter the music reminds me of Rise Against.

Judas Priest – Firepower

Judas Priest is not a band I have ever paid that much attention to. I don’t dislike them but they always kind of faded in to the noise of the metal community for me. This is a solid album though. Here’s my favorite song on the album, “Traitor’s Gate”.
